2026 Plant Bingo

This year is the 1st Annual Ozarks Plant Bingo Competition! There are 25 plants, 5 months, and 3 cards to choose from. This FREE competition is the product of a community effort to get people excited about plants! Compete for 3 amazing prize baskets put together by us for you!

New to plants, but still want to play? GREAT! We reached out to local experts to ensure most plants on Bingo cards 1 and 2 will be covered in their classes and put together a resource guide for those who need guidance in their plant ID journey!

So How Do I Play?

  1. Pick one of the three cards to compete with:

    • PDF Bingo 1- Most plants can be found in a yard setting or along the road.

      • Bingo -1 Raffle Ticket

      • Black Out - 3 Raffle Tickets

    • PDF Bingo 2- Plants can be commonly found in parks and most will be covered in plant walks by local guides. Some exploration may be required.

      • Bingo - 1 Raffle Ticket

      • Black Out - 4 Raffle Tickets

    • PDF Bingo 3- Some plants may be covered by local guides, some plants may only occur in specific counties and are considered rare. You will have to cover a wide range of ecosystems and have a good foundation in plant ID to get them all.

      • Bingo - 1 Raffle Ticket

      • Black Out - 5 Raffle Tickets

  2. The game will start April 1st 2026. All cards must be submitted by end of day September 1st 2026.

  3. Once you find a plant on your bingo card, you must take a photo of each of them with an identifier piece. An identifier piece can be your face, a ring, a notecard, bracelet, dog (preferred), tattoo, quarter, etc. Any consistent object or living thing that lets us know YOU took the photos. Any photos without your identifier piece in it, will not be counted in your score card.

  4. Free Spaces can be found on some cards. You can pick any plant not already on the card to add to your bingo! They still must be photographed and properly identified.

  5. Once you get a Horizontal, Vertical, or Diagonal Bingo, (5 in a row) you can either submit your bingo for review, or go for a black out (all plants on the card) on your card.

  6. Submissions due end of day September 1st 2026. Use this form to submit: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe1oVDdLSx6ypRPMAwhrIYRyyobnAb-ZXoFurYVChQns8v2AA/viewform?usp=header

  7. Upon review, if you correctly identify your plants, you will receive 1-5 raffle tickets depending on what card you completed. 1 card submission per player.

  8. Drawings for 3 prize baskets will take place at the end of September or when we can get all of the player submissions reviewed. We will announce the winners on our Facebook and reach out to their preferred contact on the submission form. The winner will have 2 weeks to reach out and collect the basket, or we will draw a new winner.

Plant Walks

Below are a list of Plant Walks Scheduled this year where local guides are likely to cover plants on Bingo Cards 1 and 2 if you would like some guidance! Please be respectful to instructors time and class structure because these classes are their normal plant walks, NOT events specifically for the bingo card event. Wildscapes walks will be more focused on the bingo cards because we are hosting the event but we encourage you to explore the instructor list as each of us has our own unique knowledge base!
